New Combo Brake and Clutch Lever
We now have the Combo Brake and Clutch Lever handle available for sale. This comes in a sleek and stylish design to match all bicycles. It combines both brake and clutch funtionalities from the standard clutch lever included with all the bicycle engine kit packages.
Part number (see parts manual): 3-47B.
How does it work?
Instead of using the 3 gear actuator for shifting, you would simply use gears 1 and 2 to either have the clutch engaged (gear 2) and disengaged (default gear 1).
For example, to disengage the clutch, you would push the thumb actuator and switch it to the 2nd gear notch. Then to engage the engine, you would need to press on the finger trigger to release the lock and the thumb actuator would move back to 1st gear. You would simply toggle between 1st and 2nd Gear.
Some customers have found the distance travelled by the clutch arm between gear 1 and 2 to be lacking. The gear actuator can be modified internally to exclude the use of gear 2 and therefore the transition would be from gear 1 to 3, thus allowing for an additional length of pull on the clutch arm.
